The Lee Chapel Curriculum
English And Maths
At Lee Chapel, English and Maths are taught discreetly as stand-alone lessons with children placed within ability sets (Set 1, Set 1A - Aspirational, Set 2, Set 3).
Our set teachers provide outstanding lessons which enable our children to excel beyond their personal targets. Within these sets support is provided for those that require it and challenge and expectations remain incredibly high for ALL children. Movement between the sets occurs after discussion amongst Set Teachers and constant assessment of pupils.
Foundation Subjects
We have recently redesigned our Lee Chapel Primary school curriculum after a year long collaborative research project alongside other schools in our Teaching School Alliance.
Having examined and evaluated existing School Curriculums around the country, we devised our own unique set of objectives and topics specifically adapted for Lee Chapel. Our aim is to provide an up to date, rounded Curriculum where children are taught key skills and knowledge and provided with the tools to become independent learners. Each topic is launched with a special entry point designed to enthuse children and ‘hook’ them. Subjects such as History, Geography, Science and Design and Technology are interwoven to provide a consistent and flowing term of lessons.
If you would like any further information on the curriculum or lesson content, please speak to your child's class teacher.
