Lee Chapel meet Boris Johnson!
On Monday 14th November, the School Parliament had the most amazing and inspiring trip to the Houses of Parliament. 59 pupils from Years 1-6 were lucky enough to have the opportunity to look around the historic building and find out more about what it is like to be a Member of Parliament. We were delighted to see Boris Johnson in Westminster Hall, who took the time to stop and speak to the children, telling them a story about Henry VIII when he lived in the building and how he managed to lodge a tennis ball high up in the eves of the hall!
It was fascinating for the children (and accompanying adults) to be able to sit in the public galleries of both the Commons and Lords and have an insight into what goes on there.
